Conductor
Jason Harriman
Jason has served the band as a former trumpet section leader, a member of the Board of Directors, and as a past-president of the band. A graduate of the University of Georgia, he worked for 10 years as a music educator in the Augusta area. Jason followed his years in the classroom by supporting the use of instructional techno- logy in the Richmond County School System and then at Grovetown High School in Columbia County. He has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, a Master of Education in Instructional Technology, and an Educational Specialist degree in the same field, as well as an additional Library Media certification. Jason now holds the position of media and instructional technology specialist at Augusta Christian Schools managing the library and supporting the faculty and students with the use of technology for instruction and learning. In addition to working with the Augusta Concert Band, Jason continues to perform as a freelance musician with his brass quintet, Border Brass, and with several other ensembles throughout the CSRA.
